The transition to a new university management system (USOS) often results in a degraded user experience and a cluttered interface. UeKatPlan was developed as a direct response to this issue, offering students a modern, fast, and streamlined alternative for managing their daily class schedules without the need to navigate un-intuitive web portals.
Architecture & Technology
The application is built entirely on the Kotlin Multiplatform (KMM) architecture. This strategic approach allowed for sharing the core business logic across platforms while maintaining a fully native user interface. The visual layer was crafted using the latest dedicated frameworks: SwiftUI for iOS and Jetpack Compose for Android.
User Value
The project completely eliminates the frustration associated with sluggish official academic systems. Users gain instant access to their timetables within a clean, responsive environment. Currently serving as a fully functional proof-of-concept for KMM capabilities, the application is primed for its upcoming public release on the App Store and Google Play.
